Link Health and Community is the Early Childhood Partner delivering the Early Childhood Approach for children under 9 in Outer East Melbourne, Inner East Melbourne, Southern Melbourne, Inner Gippsland and Outer Gippsland for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The early childhood approach supports children younger than 9 and their families. 

  • If you have concerns about your child’s development, Early Childhood Approach can connect you to the right supports.
  • Early Childhood Approach helps children younger than 6 with developmental delay or;
  • Children younger than 9 with a disability and;
  • Children younger than 6 do not need a diagnosis to get support through Early Childhood Approach.

Early Childhood Approach are here to support you to make informed choices about available services and supports to get the best outcomes for your child. They will tailor their support to your child’s individual needs and circumstances.

Some of the ways Early Childhood Approach may assist you are: 

  • Work with you to understand your child’s needs and the goals you have for your child
  • Connecting you with practical information to help you understand your child’s developmental needs
  • Connecting you and your child with services and supports in your local community
  • They may provide you with a short period of early supports to support you to achieve the goals you have for your child
  • They will support you to apply to the NDIS, if your child meets eligibility requirements
  • If your child becomes an NDIS participant, Early Childhood Approach will work with you to support you to use the NDIS plan and Early Childhood Services
